In Microsoft Edge , you can import almost all of your data from Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox and use it in Microsoft Edge to minimize the setup required for switching over and to continue working in ways that are familiar to you with the other browsers. You can also import your passwords from 3rd Party Password Managers to further simplify setting up Microsoft Edge.

To install the Google Chrome browser on Windows 10, open a web browser, such as Edge, type google.com/chrome into the search bar, and press Enter. Select Download Chrome > Accept and Install > Save File. Navigate to the installer (likely in the Downloads folder), double-click ChromeSetup, select Run, and follow the prompts.

To install Google Chrome on a Mac, go to the Chrome download page on your Mac and click Download Chrome for Mac. Double-click the googlechrome.dmg file to launch the installer, then drag the Chrome icon to the Application folder icon. Double-click Google Chrome to start using the browser.

Firefox recently implemented DNS over HTTPS, which hides your web address lookups from your ISP. In addition, Edge, Firefox, and Safari include fingerprint protection, meaning they try to prevent trackers from identifying you based on your hardware and software setup. One test of this is the EFF's Cover Your Tracks site, which reports the level of tracking protection; on that, Safari shows gaps, while Brave gets top marks. Some of the browsers also have built-in Content Blocking to fend off known trackers and cryptocurrency-mining ploys.

Additionally, in Chrome-based browsers, we've made the browser spawned byCypress look different than regular sessions. You'll see a darker theme aroundthe chrome of the browser. You'll always be able to visually distinguish these.

When I paste the url address in the default browser I have (something like :8892/notebooks/Home/Exercices/Testing1.ipynb the chrome page asks me for a password or token. I have no password and I do not know what a token is.

You don't need to change anything in the jupyter_notebook_config file. check whether your default web browser(if it's chrome) or reset and again choose as a web browser(chrome for me)as a default browser. it worked for me.

After considerable thrashing about trying to launch a jupyter notebook in chrome from Anaconda in Win10 when chrome was not my default browser, I combined several of the suggestions above and, in the jupyter_notebook_config.py file under .jupyter in my home directory put in these lines in place of the default c.NotebookApp.browser line, and it finally worked!:

Note the use of Unix-style directory separators (this is apparently a bug in webbrowser) and the use of DOS-style "PROGRA2" --- both of these seem to be necessary. Adding "%s" after "chrome.exe" seemed not to help.

Microsoft have setup Edge as a persistent virus on Windows. Even if you set the default browser to Chrome in Settings, you still get edge when opening up Jupyter.. This is because Microsoft have set Edge as the default app for .htm and .html files. In the settings for app defaults, find that one and change it to Chrome and you are all set..
